Grad Show Visual Campaign — “Breaking Through”
“Breaking Through” was more than just a campaign title; it represented three years of growth, challenge, and transformation with my graduating class. We all came from different backgrounds and followed unique creative paths, but we faced the journey together. This campaign became a symbol of us breaking through as graduates, ready to take on the world.
Recognition
Both classmates and professors selected my poster design to represent our year. It was displayed in large format throughout the school, featured on the St. Lawrence College website, and promoted by RGD Canada. Seeing our story reach such a wide audience was an incredible honour.

The Creative Process
This project was hands-on from the start. I collected real leaves and created a custom sign with the campaign title, laser-cutting each letter using a laser engraver. I then photographed the sign over natural foliage, allowing leaves and stems to emerge through the cut-out letters, bringing the “breaking through” theme to life in a tangible way.

Bringing It All Together
In Photoshop, I layered these photographs over a white paper background and added a peeling corner for a 3D effect. As the paper lifts, more foliage is revealed, emphasizing the concept of breaking through barriers and growing beyond them. Every detail, from textured shadows to event information, was carefully designed to guide the viewer’s eye from the bold title to the essential details.
